Introduction
The story is about a muslim boy who don,t pray regular. So one day he get his lesson in dream . Prayer is a key to succes
Lack of religion care
I never prayed. My name is Shoaib and i believe in Allah as we pray 5 time in a day and read holy quraan. My family is muslim in Islam. Looking back, I always lacked discipline, or else, I never really cared much about religion and praying. I used to be involved in activities such as playing cricket with the friends or watching movies most of the time. They would remind me to say a prayer.” I just ignored them.
Dream starting
I remember one day I dreamt of something rather peculiar. This time I found myself alone on a path, which was winding. The sky was pitch black. No moon or stars. I felt afraid and lost. All of the sudden I found an old man with beard sitting beside me. He was wearing a white robe and giving a staff. I jumped back in fright!
Fear of dream
“Do not fear my son,” he said softly. “I am here to guide you. That is why you are lost, you fail to pray to Allah. It is their submission that pray brings peace and light into one’s life. It is suggested that without it there is only darkness and misery.” I was confused. I didn’t know this old man. But of course, how was it he knew that I did not pray before?
Importance of prayer
He went on, saying “Prayer puts us in touch with Allah.” Kneeling before LORD, we are reminded of His help and thus we seek it. We get our strength, courage and wisdom here. It became lighter to be burdened and easier to solve life difficulties.” I merely shrugged but didn’t answer him.His words don’t matter to me.
Life before Prayer importance
He lifted his staff above his head pointing towards the black sky above. These moments came suddenly and then, boom, they were flooded with stars! I gasped in awe. Where there had once been a black hole lay the gleaming of celestial glory. Then smiting it on my chest with the staff, he said to her. A cold dread seized me. My life again passed before my eyes. Dissappointments, quarrels with friends or companions over petty cash affairs, angry words between my parents about unsettled accounts. I cried so hard that tears rained on my cheeks.
Waking from dream
The old guide smiled and said gently, “You know?” Where there is no prayer you remain in the dark. Times of need are marked with the darkness. The assistance of Allah, the most Compassionate, is not needed. Therefore pray and pray, my son, and observe how spiritual light fills your days.” Suddenly I sat straight up in the bed. It was morning. My little sister started screaming it is time for school. It had only been a dream!
Reminder of prayer
It took some time before preparing for school as the dream lingered in my mind. On this I could not help being reminded of the old man’s words on prayer. I felt an awakening of some sort in my bosom. This I felt was the case; God had been far from me and I was spiritually novice, just vulnerable. School prayer time followed After that. The voice of Muezzin’s continued from the mosque and there was a certain opulence. Then and only then, on impulse, I followed my family.
First time prayer
Side by side I tried to copy their movements closely. My father then looked at me and smiled. The words of worship used were therefore natural ones which sounded refreshing and natural to the ears. My mind calmed. My heart felt as if it had an injection of rays of light. I would say, all of a sudden I realized that it was God who gave me that dream. Allah had sent a guide that has a purpose of reminding me the importance of prayer. That was the day my life changed for a brand new and a much more difficult existence.
Starting to prayer
Now I prayer Fajr before going to school being among the early birds to pray Fajr. The day feels longer when I recite Allah payer at the break of the day. I don’t focus on my failures and things that I am worried about. Memorizing holy wordings I find the strength and knowledge on how to make right decisions, to be nice even when am so much hurt. My home is happier as we pray for as a family.
Peaceful ending
I explain to Shafiq my best friend informing him that after praying I feel at peace my outlook on life changes. He dismisses it all. But I know he tries – so worries about his future job, and with his bustling parents. He will come around, as I did too. For now I silently made the prayer example and pray to God for guidance for the coming days. There are some days I even hear that Shafiq might encounter the same guide in his sleep at night.
